The main theme for my project is where you go in your sleep. I started off by having a woman fall asleep. I decided to have the whole world around her to be space because when you fall asleep you don't really know where you are and are unconscious. The next 6 pages are telling stories of dreams that I have had in the past or find I have frequently. In every dream I have a silhouette of a girl because in your dreams you're not as much aware of yourself but more aware of the things around you. To start off, the first dream is about dinosaurs. I wanted the first dream to be the most bizarre and non-realistic because I wanted the viewers to realize we are in her dreams and not just showing parts of her life. The second dream page has to do with the theme of love. Sometimes people fantasize about love and I think it's relatively common in many people's dreams so I thought it was an important page to add. The next page is about flying and feeling free by showing her having wings and flying with birds. The fourth dream in this zine is where the dreams start to become nightmares. This page is about losing teeth. This dream has specifically happened to me many times and it's always the most realistic feeling dream I have. In my culture, having a dream about losing teeth means that a distant relative has passed. For the fifth dream page, I focused on monsters and more specifically being chased in my dreams. This dream is another common nightmare that I get. For my last dream page, I decided to have the character falling. I have had a dream of falling way too many times and every time it happens I jolt awake which is why I decided it as my last dream. Finally, I have the woman waking up and being startled by her dream.
